Meta has introduced the appointment of three new board members together with the chief government of the Final Combating Championship (UFC) and shut Donald Trump ally, Dana White.
It comes as Meta’s chief government, Mark Zuckerberg, seems to be making efforts to fix ties with Trump, forward of the US president-elect’s inauguration this month.
Days in the past former UK deputy prime minister and Liberal Democrat chief Sir Nick Clegg left his job as president of global affairs at the social media giant.
The opposite new members of Meta’s board embody John Elkann, who leads European funding agency Exor, and Charlie Songhurst, a former Microsoft government.
“Dana, John and Charlie will add a depth of experience and perspective that may assist us sort out the huge alternatives forward with [artificial intelligence], wearables and the way forward for human connection,” stated Mr Zuckerberg in a press release.
The social media large additionally praised Mr White’s position in turning UFC into a world enterprise.
In a publish on Meta’s Instagram, Mr White stated he loves social media and is “excited to be a small a part of the way forward for [artificial intelligence] and rising applied sciences.”
Mr White has beforehand rejected any suggestion that UFC platforms hate speech, insisting he helps free speech.
