Report: Jets make decision on new head coach

The New York Jets have landed their new head coach.

The Jets are hiring Detroit Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn as their new coach, in line with ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Glenn had been considered as the favourite for the job.

The Jets had favored Glenn throughout their search, and reports indicated that a deal was likely. The staff had hosted him for a second interview on Tuesday and had hoped to reach a deal with him earlier than he had the prospect to go away the ability, although that finally didn’t occur. It proved to be a brief setback, as the 2 sides have an settlement sooner or later later.

Glenn, 52, has been the Lions’ defensive coordinator since 2021. He was massively well-liked along with his gamers and led a protection that ranked seventh in factors allowed and twentieth in yards this season. He was initially drafted by the Jets and performed for the staff from 1994-2001, so it is a kind of homecoming for him.

The Lions will now want two new coordinators for 2025, having lost offensive coordinator Ben Johnson as properly.
